i have an an issue with the fuel cut off on my 300tdi. 10 days ago the engine wouldn't turn off so tested everything & then removed the solenoid and found the rubber part of the plunger had a chunk missing. Ordered new part and fitted and all was well again. Today, the same has happened to the new solenoid, a piece missing off the rubber May 19, 2021. #4. raisingveg said: issue 1 check the thermostat is not sticking and make sure the fan is kicking in. issue 2 check oil level or make sure the bulb and earth is not faulty. 300tdi doesnt have an electric fan. Rad should be hot all over op needs to look at the oil cooler side of the rad also. One half (small bronze bush) was in the oil line rest must have gone through No1 cylinder. Not a mark on the head or piston but the piston is now 2mm lower than No 4 with a slight S bend in the con-rod. Not sure I can remove it up the bore. Might get away with one new con-rod & a turbo. The turbo fins are chewed up but the casing looks OK. Location. France. Jan 12, 2018. #1. Hi, my 300Tdi on a 110 County, but originally from a Disco, was filling the intercooler with oil. After checking the turbo, which seems fine, and replacing the manifold gasket which was actually on its way out, the filling continued. The source was traced back to the cyclone unit. roverman65. In terms of replacing it, AFAIK the 200 uses the same engine mounting feet, but, and here's the rub, the youngest 200 is now 25 years old. Dec 29, 2016. #1. So I have a 300tdi engine in my Land Rover 90. When I put this in, it did not start or run well. It was very low on power. I worked out the problem to be the Injection pump. I sent the injectors and pump to be rebuilt by a local bosch service point. The engine is a standard, EGR blanked and Non automatic running on Diesel. Feb 26, 2018. #1. Hi, I have a 1997 300tdi and noticed that on a real frosty morning the old girl is a bit slow to crank but eventually starts. Current battery is approx 8 years old so I know it needs replacing. Checked for replacement spec and suppliers say 70ah and 570cca. Can I fit a 100ah and 900/1000cca battery? I know the 300TDI engine's are more refined but i never hear good stories about them mainly overheating problems etc. What ever i decide on it will be getting rebuild before being fitted (new rings, gaskets, etc) There are plenty of people on here that have done this sort of trip so im hoping they can help me from there experience. Thank you 4mSkZ12.
